Clubs and Pubs

The licensed trade and mutual organisations including sports and community clubs need special treatment for various reasons.

With pubs, many new landlords and landladies are thrown into the deep end when they take on their first tenancy – aware of the work involved in keeping the customers happy and making sure that the pumps don’t run dry but often staggered by the workload that keeping proper track of the finances requires. Pubs, along with all other strands of the business community need the proper help and guidance at the right time to survive and thrive.

Social clubs including the many still active working men’s clubs in the UK have special requirements for reporting governed by the Financial Services Authority. The rules must be understood and proper procedures followed but, most importantly, the stewardship of the organisation such as committees and trustees need to show that they have acted in the best interests of the club both in activities undertaken and in financial control.

Sports clubs are increasingly looking to incorporate for protection from a wave of litigation relating to negligence and other claims. Maybe talking to someone about the implications of this would be helpful?

We know a lot about clubs and pubs and would love to talk to you, do please contact us.
